Meet Michelle Zihan Fan

Creative and adventurous artist with progressive experience in various forms of art and design

My name is Zihan(Michelle) Fan, and I’m an artist currently pursuing my graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center. My work lies at the intersection of art and technology, with a passion for creating interactive experiences that inspires.

Growing up, I always knew I was destined for a creative path. I’ve been driven by a love for innovation and a constant curiosity to try new things. This passion led me to study at the School of Visual Arts in New York, in 2D Animation program, where I practiced my skills and deepened my understanding of art.

During my undergraduate years, I was increasingly drawn to the world of technology. I realized how powerful and exciting it could be to combine traditional artistic practices with emerging technologies. After graduation, I chose to explore interdisciplinary fields that allowed me to blend my background in 2D animation and art with new, cutting-edge tools and methods.

Now, my work focuses on interactive art, including installation art, location-based entertainment, and games. I’m passionate about designing immersive experiences that blur the line between the physical and digital, inviting audiences to engage in meaningful and memorable ways.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey. I look forward to connecting with others who share the same love for creativity and innovation!
